Antica Dolceria Rizza

MODICA. Vincenzo Bellini’s music meets Modica Chocolate, here is the project "Cigni di Bellini-Sinfonie di Gusto".

These are special Modica chocolate pralines that enhance the most noble ingredients of the island - from the pistachio of Bronte to the Sale di Trapani, from the Passito di Pantelleria to the citrus fruits of Etna - in the most intimate combination with the notes of the symphonies of the great Italian composer of Catania origins. The idea of the "Cigni di Bellini" was born from the meeting between the master Luigi De Giorgi, orchestra professor of the Bellini Theater, and the chocolate master Giuseppe Rizza, fourth generation of the Antica Dolceria Rizza in Modica, to pay tribute to Bellini and his city on the occasion of the festivities of the patron saint Sant'Agata.

Today, at 11 am, at the Foyer of the Teatro Bellini in Catania, it will be presented these sweets with a guided tasting by the same master Rizza in combination with some of Bellini's most famous opera, live played by the sestetto d'archi «Italian Ensemble».
The "Cigni di Bellini" are not only the "sweet" Italian answer to the Mozart pralines but a means to reintroduce the interest on the famous Bellini operas through a series of initiatives that will take place in Italian and European cultural events.
The project, in fact, wants to bring the music of Maestro Bellini in Italian and foreign theaters by combining the tasting of chocolates dedicated to the composer, called "il cigno" for its elegance and the delicacy of its style.
