Aranciata and Cedrata

Christmas sweets by Arab origin made sweetening before the orange and cedar peel in running water and then cooking them with the precious honey of the Monti Iblei already praised by Ovid and Virgil. The orange and the cedar (Sicilian dialect "petrafennula") are hard and sweet nougat consumed at the end of the meal in Christmas tables for their digestive action.
